Working Situation

There are four Vietnamese and four Myanmar engineers working for us as of October, 2021. We are working on projects all together. You don't have to be worried whether you can go along with Japanese staff or keep up with the job. Our skillful staff will be willing to help you improve. Communication is basically required Japanese but you can speak English. Most foreign engineers have improved their Japanese language skill through their work. The average overtime is 9.2h/month (2020). Usually you can take days off as you expected.

How do you think of learning Japanese?

I started learning Japanese at the final year of my university because I aimed to work at a Japanese Company. I went to a Japanese Language School in Myanmar and learned from N5 to N3. I am doing self-study of N2 and learning Japanese lessons offered by MEC. I passed JLPT N4 and keep learning to pass JLPT N2 exam. I am interested in Japanese from the beginning of my studies especially grammar and reading kanji. I feel happy every time I learn something new in Japanese. To improve listening and speaking skill, I watch Japanese dramas and movies on weekends.

How do you think of working for a Japanese IT company?

I have been working here since July of 2020. I enjoy working at MEC and get along with all staffs and colleagues. Our superiors, Mr. Mori and Mr. Yuda, are always ready to support us to improve our Japanese skills and technical skills. I am very grateful to work under the superiors whose skills and talents are notable.

What kind of things do you want to do in Japan?

I would like to learn Japanese culture and working environment. I want to try Japanese food especially famous Matsusaka beef and explore sightseeing tours to experience amazing tourist attractions in Japan.

Please tell us more about yourself

I would like to improve skills that need to develop my career and want to leverage my knowledge and experience while working at MEC. In the future, I would like to be a skillful project manager.

How do you think of learning Japanese?

I have started learning the Japanese language after I have finished university. Firstly, I was worried about the Japanese language learning process since I was doing full-time job previously and don’t have enough time to learn the Japanese language properly. After I joined the MEC, the company gave me enough time to make me strong in the language. Now, I can manage to have time to improve my Japanese language skills.

How do you think of working for a Japanese IT company?

My first job was one of the Japanese companies which I have learnt a lot of soft skills and hard skills and have improved a lot on me. Since that time, I eager to work at Japanese companies which have a good working environment. One of the things I liked for Japanese IT companies is having well documenting and planning properly everything, plus became my second family. I also notice that I have improved a lot of technical skills and Japanese language over 1 year working at MEC and having chances working with edge technologies.

What kind of things do you want to do in Japan?

I feel so nervous to stay in Japan because it is first-time experience in a foreign country. But I have prepared myself before going to Japan and I believe that there will not be a hard time when I reach Japan. The first thing I would like to do when I reach Japan is [looking for snow]. It is very hard to see snow in my country and have never seen them before my life. I love the snow. There is also one thing I wish to do is wearing Kimono. It is the most iconic. I can’t also forget the learning Japanese culture and language that can make me easy life including the working environment.

Please tell us more about yourself

Being a software engineer, I would like to improve my technical skills whereas also management. Managing is not an easy task, but I already made my mind that to become a project manager in the future. I started working hard and I believe that my future won’t be far away from now.
